INTRODUCING
ALIGN & SHINE 2.0
A 6-week, online (p)rehabilitation movement course designed for the Queer community.
WITH THE PROPER PRE-TOP SURGERY TRAINING..
YOU WILL BE ABLE TO RECOVER FASTER DURING THE POST-OP HEALING PROCESS.
Through a series of mobility and strengthening exercises, this online program will unlock your truest potential.
Align your body and identity & ShineĀ like the amazing human you are!
Created by a certified personal trainer who's undergone top surgery. Motivated by the lack of movement resources available for pre and post surgery.
DON'T GO INTO SURGERY UNDER PREPARED
Our community commonly has to figure out a lot on our own. This movement based resource takes away the stress of figuring out what exercises to do before top surgery.
The main objectives of this program are to:
- Improve your upper body mobility and feel less tight and achy
- Strengthen weak muscles due to years of poor posture
- Feel strong and confident going into top surgery
- Recover faster
After just 6-weeks your body will move and feel better.
DIFFERENT THAN A REGULAR STRENGTH PROGRAM
A (P)REHAB BASED APPROACH
A (p)rehabilitation program is designed to strengthen the right muscles before surgery. This online course is unique because there is a combination of:
- Daily mobility
- Self-myofascial release
- Strength based exercises that target weak muscles on folks with compensated posture
After completing this program, your body will be surgery ready.
HEY, I'M MAL (They/Them)!
I'm a trans and non-binary certified personal trainer who had double-incision top surgery on March 17th, 2022. Top surgery was the most radical act of self-love I have ever given myself and I can confidently say that my life has improved dramatically since I got that extra weight off my chest (quite literally).
Something I struggled with during the whole top surgery process was the lack of movement resources available. It was an eye-opening moment and made me realize how common it is for folks to not prioritize the care that is necessary to make the recovery process easier.
After going through a challenging post-op experience myself due to the lack of pre-op preparation, I knew I had to take action.
There are little resources out there on how to best prepare and strengthen your body for gender-affirming top surgery. Surgeons and doctors aren't the ones informing us on how to get our bodies ready for this procedure. Most often us folks are left on our own googling information that's not easy to find. That was my experience at least.
Through my own personal journey, learning and education, I was able to create a program to help my community. A pre top surgery movement guide that could have helped me so much during this already stressful time.
Align & Shine 2.0 is an inventory of exercises I now know are essential before top surgery. I know this because I went through it and learned the hard way. It's somewhat a blessing though because it gave me incentive to create this online course.
